John Thomasson, CIIA SW 2015 Conference - May 2015

Hello Rebecca,

We held another successful two day Conference at Cadbury last week and I wanted to let you know that although all your staff were helpful and efficient there were several who provided that extra effort that led to achieving that success.

Jessica Bate was always on hand to support the smooth running of administration matters in particular arranging the last minute copying of documents for the delegate packs ably assisted by Maddie.

Wendy Stevens and her staff once again took control of the hands on food and beverage operation delivering everything on time allowing our speaker sessions to keep to schedule.

Finally I was really impressed with your senior receptionist Monica who answered my emergency call on Thursday to find someone who could fix my dress shirt having forgotten to pack my button fasteners and only realised this just half an hour before the black tie gala dinner was due to start and I was hosting it.

Without any fuss she found four buttons behind the reception desk and asked me to return in fifteen minutes which I did.

Amazingly the dress shirt was ready to wear with the four buttons perfectly in position and from what could have been a disastrous situation for me turned out to be a memorable evening with once again excellent service in the Great Room and delicious food [and wine].

I have been arranging events and Conferences at Cadbury for some thirty years and for the above reasons that is why I continue to do so.

Dear Monika,

Just a quick note to thank your team for their assistance on the evening of Thursday 30th April.

I am a trustee of a children's charity ( and one of our trustees had arranged to staying with you that evening. We therefore decided to hold our Board meeting in The Lounge area and our Chair of trustees decided to also stay at the hotel.

On the evening of our meeting, the hotel was hosting a wedding and this meant that there was more noise than normal in the bar areas. Your staff were kind enough to allow us to use one of the meeting rooms upstairs, giving us the opportunity to hold our meeting without disturbance. Your staff arranged this quickly and without fuss displaying their professionalism

As a trustee of the charity, I just wanted to pass my thanks on to yourself and your team on that evening for giving us the opportunity to use one of your rooms at such short notice. As with all charities, we depend on the generosity of organisations such as yours.

"I wish to express a great big thank you to you and your team at Cadbury House who have all supported my Tulip team and I over a busy 4 week period working at Bristol Port. Without this support and dedication to take care of us it would not have been so successful at the port or socially at the hotel, as a group we felt most welcome and bonded as friends not just colleagues and guests.

I'd like to express particular thanks to Elaine for the initial contact and sorting things out, I hope she recovers soon. Jonathan and Mimo with whom we had the most contact, nothing was ever an issue and they always went the extra mile, Jonathans change of menu for lunch and dinners were great. Mimo for cooking up our gammons in the kitchen for taste panels. Monika, Hannah and the whole reception team were very very helpful throughout.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the Elvis night topped things off nicely. If you have any photos of our group we'd love some copies. 

I have travelled the world and stayed in many fine hotels. I feel you should be very proud of your hotel and your team of which are both world class."

"We as a company regularly use various meeting places. The Double Tree was perfect. The meeting room was comfortable and very well equipped. Things we usually have to ask for as extras were provided as standard. We were appointed a member if staff who was on the end of a phone or text if we needed anything. It was also cheaper than similar establishments that we have used. The Double Tree gave us a first class hotel experience. I would recommend trying it for business meetings or if you need to smooze a client."
