North Somerset Health & Leisure Giants join forces for Christmas Toy Appeal Published: 10th December 2009 Two of North Somerset’s best know leisure venues have joined forces to help collect as many toys for local children this Christmas. theclub at Cadbury House in Congresbury and Puxton Park in Hewish have pooled their resources to fill a giant Santa sleigh that’s located in the entrance to the popular farm attraction. Arranged in conjunction with Star FM, health club members are now being encouraged to help fill the sleigh as soon as possible so that the toys donated will make it to local children in time for Christmas Day. The toys will then be distributed to local, disadvantaged children. Jon O’Mara from Puxton Park said: “This is the second time we’ve run the appeal and last year was a great success. To have theclub as a partner venue is great news and I’m sure the appeal will be an even greater hit this year. “To be able to give the toys and presents to local children really does make Christmas special for those who perhaps aren’t as fortunate as many youngsters across the area.” To mark the partnership between the two venues a deal has been struck so that members benefit from special offers this Christmas. It enables members from theclub to visit the Puxton Park Santa Grotto for half price with Puxton Park members who decide to join the award-winning health club not having to pay a joining fee. Jason Eaton, manager at theclub added: “I’m delighted that theclub will be involved in this appeal and I’m sure our members will respond accordingly. It’s also great that both businesses can give support to each other and allow their members to benefit from mutually beneficial offers. “I’m sure plenty of our members will be visiting the Puxton Park Grotto and I hope we’ll get lots of enquiries from Puxton Park members about joining our health club.” Members of theclub visiting the Puxton Park Grotto will have to present their member ‘key’ to receive the discount. Puxton Park members wanting to join theclub will need to present their club card and membership number. Anyone who does want to donate something can bring it to Puxton Park or drop it off at theclub at Cadbury House. Any toys donated need to be new and unwrapped.
