What's On June 2017

As we welcome in the month of June, it’s now time to say goodbye to the winter coats and woolly hats and say hello to t-shirts sunshine and where better to do so than Bristol. Summer in the southwest is simply the best, there's never a dull moment largely due to the line-up of events coming our wonderful city. Below is just a small taste of what can be expected from the month of June in Bristol.

Sand Sculpture Festival

Date: 14th April – 30th September

Venue: Weston Super Mare Seafront

This year’s festival theme is ‘Topsy Turvy’

Our artists this year will be given freedom to express this in there sand sculptures and this year. Come and see the artists express the ‘world’ at the moment from public figures to climate change any subject is up for grabs!

Let's Rock Bristol

Date: 2 June 2017 - 4 June 2017

Venue: Ashton Court

After 4 years of success, Lets Rock Bristol is back once again in 2017 to bring the gift of music. Returning with an all new format including days dedicated to both the 80’s and the 90’s, Lets Rock Bristol has a line-up of artists that is sure to rock your socks off. With entertainment for the whole family, Lets Rock incorporates everything from a funfair for the kids to various bars for the adults, and with onsite camping available at the venue the fun doesn’t have to stop.

TriBristol 2017

Date: 11th June 2017

Venue: Bristol Harbourside

For the 8th year running Bristol will once again watch as men and women alike display true endurance whilst taking part in the Bristol Harbourside Triathlon presented by TriBristol. Established as one of the best of its kind this event is sure to be one of the most entertaining and rewarding of the summer, whether you are taking part or just watching there's no doubt that it will be a day to remember. Consisting of Swim, Cycle and Running events the Triathlon will showcase the talents of both experienced and amateur contestants, showing the heart and determination of our city.

With over 400 people currently set to take part this will potentially be the biggest year yet, so why not come down and cheer on the brave souls who are taking part, who knows you may get inspired to take part next year.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

Date: 13 June 2017 - 17 June 2017

Venue:  Bristol Hippodrome

The Bristol Hippodrome has often known to be home of some of the most critically acclaimed productions in the world, a feat which will not be changing this summer due to the arrival of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. From Tony Awards to Oliver Awards this production has managed win almost every award in the book, meanwhile being able to impress even the harshest of critics.

Based on the best-selling novel by Mark Haddon, the production is the story of Christopher, fifteen years old who has an extraordinary brain – exceptional at maths while ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. When he falls under the suspicion of killing Mrs Shears’ dog, it takes him on a journey that upturns his world.

Bristol Comedy Garden

Date: 14th June-  18th June

Venue: Queens Square.

Everyone loves a good laugh, right? So why not check out the hilarious Bristol comedy garden when it returns to Queens Square this June for another year of chuckles. Headlined by the one and only Ross Noble The Bristol Comedy Garden maintains its tradition of attracting top class comedy acts with previous performers including the likes of Stewart Lee, Russell Howard and many more.

After 5 years of continued success The Bristol Comedy Garden continues to prove that laughter really is the best medicine. Tickets for the event are still available so make sure you’ve got yours before it’s too late.

Weston Air Festival and Armed Forces Day

Date: 17th 18th June

This year’s Air Festival and Armed Forces Day is set to be bigger and better than ever! Enjoy breath-taking aerial displays, veterans parade and drumhead service, military displays, fun fair rides. There will also be a great selections of stands and lots of fun filled activities to keep the whole family entertained.

The highlights of the show will be The Red Arrows, Hurricane and Spitfire, RAF Typhoon and BBMF Lancaster. These will perform a spectacular show where they will take to the skies in a performance that will take your breath away.

Jackson – Live
