Weston Sand Sculpture Festival

Dates: Until 30th September

Venue: Sea Front, Weston Super Mare

For over 11 years Sand Sculptures has followed a yearly design theme, this years is no different with a Topsy Turvy theme. So you can see anything from Upside down, back to front, the wrong way around and inside out! A crazy world of the distorted and the extraordinary. You’ll get to see the world from a completely different perspective!

You will get the opportunity to see some of the world’s spectacular sand sculptures, why not take part in our guided tour, get involved and pose your questions to the sculptors who regularly visit there masterpieces!

SeaQuarium Explorers Month

Dates: 1st-31st August

Weston SeaQuarium, Weston-super-Mare

August sees the SeaQuarium’s annual Explorers event where you are invited to join Livingstone the Explorer and Sid the Shark as they go under water to teach you all about the creatures large and small in our deep blue seas.

You’ll have the chance to take part in talks, feeds and demonstrations running each day – learn more and more about our underwater seas and what treasures are in store for you as well as the little explorers trail where you’ll be taken on an journey filled with knowledge.

It’s a Bugs Life

Dates: 4th-10th August

Venue: The Watershed, Bristol

Come and watch Pixar's wonderful animation of miniature proportions featuring The Ant and The Grasshopper, you’ll then be taken on a journey of inventor Ant as he travels to the city in search of protecting his colony.

The film has spectacular animation, with a gripping storyline this film is perfect for any age.

Researching your WWI Family History exhibition at Bristol Cathedral

Dates: 2nd-28th August

Venue: Bristol Cathedral

Love history? Why not go back in time and research your family's First World War history.

With the centenary of the First World War, historians have unearthed a large amount of historic records and new information which has now been made available to the public.

This is the perfect opportunity to develop your family knowledge and see how your family grew up in the First World War has led to a wealth of new information and records being made publicly available and a sharp rise people's interested to learn about how their own family were affected.

Murder Mystery Supper

Dates: Friday 25th August – 9th September

Venue: Bristol Hippodrome

Forget about the Broadway shows, the Hippodrome is about to take you into a world that has never been seen before…

The Murder Mystery Supper will have five professional actors who will provide you with clues, lies, gossip and the odd rumour. But make sure you take note of every little detail as the story twists and turns.
