Bristol Festival of Puppetry

Dates: 1st – 10th September

Venue: Tobacco Factory Theatres, Watershed and various Bristol locations

This year celebrates the 5th year of the Bristol Festival of Puppetry; the festival praises all things animated, may this be on the stag or screen.

The main showcase of the event is puppetry which is one of its main features of the festival.

Throughout the festival there will be a huge variety of free shows and activities. Additionally there will also be Artists Breakfasts, Carnival Parade, exhibitions, puppet trail, smoking puppet cabaret and outdoor performances.

South West Outdoor Festival

Dates: 8th – 10th September

Venue: Cheddar Gorge

If you love the outdoors this is the festival for you!

Come and enjoy everything outdoors from nature, explorations, cooking trails, tales, explorations and ales.

This year’s location is perfect for world-class rock caving and climbing. Take a walk through the majestic Mendip Hills, enjoy stores around the campfire, outstanding local produce or why not try a spot of axe throwing and archery?

The Simplyhealth Bristol Half Marathon

Date: Sunday 17th September

Venue: Bristol Harbourside

The latest event to be added to the Great Run Series, the Simplyhealth Great Bristol Half Marathon comes with its own traditions. This year will see over 10,000 runners take part in one of the best half marathons in the UK.

The Adam’s Family

Dates: 19th – 23rd September

Venue: The Bristol Hippodrome

The ‘kooky’ family is here for their very own tour of the UK from the writers of the award winning Jersey Boys and music and lyrics written by Tony Award and Andrew Lippa.

Featuring all your favourite Adams Family stars plus Uncle Fester, Pugsley and Lurch it’ll take you back to the good old days.

The story is about Wednesday Addams, the princess is new grown up but has a dark secret only known by Gomez. Wednesday has fallen in love with a lovely young man from a good family. But with his beloved Morticia in the dark about the secret… will Gomez manage to keep Wednesdays secret?

Encounter’s Short Film and Animation Festival

Dates: 19th – 24th September

Venue: Various

The festival is the UK’s most outstanding animation and short film festival. It is also the yearly meeting place for upcoming, new and current film makers as well as industry professionals.  

There is also an international competition, platform of celebrating talent and innovation, events and parties during the festival week, more than films will be shown and 60 events will take place over 4 days.

My Fair Lady

This sensational musical is back with it being the winder of six Winner Tony Awards. The musical is a wonderful romantic tale or elegance and fun.
