Adorned by ornate masks and beautiful costumes, the Carnevale di Venezia or Venice Carnival, is undoubtedly one of the most famous celebrations in the world and transforms the city in what is described as a magical way.

The team at Cadbury House in Congresbury are now making their own plans so guests looking to enjoy Christmas can enjoy their own fun and festivities in true Venetian style.

Claire Jones, sales manager at Cadbury House said: “2021 has certainly been one that we’ll all remember and is why we want people to be able to look forward to celebrating Christmas with us by getting dressed.

“The Venice Carnival is renowned across the world and was the perfect theme for us this year. We all enjoy a bit of escapism every now and the Venetian theme, with the masks, costumes and lavish parties, is the ideal way for guests to do just that and we want all our guests to come in their best Venetian outfits.

“History tells us that at traditional Venice Carnivals small performances and shows of various kinds were organized in private homes, theatres and cafes, which always transgressed into wild parties!

“Thankfully the idea of carnival has moved on somewhat since those early hedonistic origins and we’ll be pulling out all the stops to make sure that the service is first class and the ambience just right so that friends and families can enjoy themselves in a safe and comfortable environment.

“Of course, we’ll be encouraging guests to wear their own masks, adding to the theme and overall atmosphere and we will be giving prizes to the best dressed guests.”
