Popular North Somerset Hotel Adopts Low Noise Fireworks Policy

One of the South West’s leading four-star hotels and health clubs will be using low noise fireworks for all future displays as it looks to protect local wildlife and domestic pets from the bangs and explosions created by traditional fireworks.

Bosses at Cadbury House in Congresbury, North Somerset now hope guests who visit the regular displays that take place such as the traditional, and hugely popular, November bonfire night, will still be able to enjoy the spectacle but with the decibel level turned down.

Brady Smith, general manager at Cadbury House said: “Lots of people still enjoy the excitement, colours and traditions associated with dates such as fifth November. We also have a lot of couples who tie the knot here at Cadbury House and include fireworks as part of their nuptial celebrations.

“We’re not looking to take that away but be much more considerate for those who look after animals either as pets or who rear livestock. It’s also better for anyone who looks after elderly relatives who can also be affected by more traditional fireworks, plus anyone who might suffer from sensory difficulties.

“Low noise fireworks have a much lower decibel level but are still colourful and great to watch and I’m sure all our guests and visitors will appreciate and enjoy the future displays we hold here.”
