Night of whodunnit returns to North Somerset hotel

A popular event is set to return to arguably the most atmospheric venue in the region where wannabe detectives will be challenged to work out the felon during a night of murder mystery.

Taking place at Cadbury House in Congresbury the evening will be set in 1937 where the 'Last Night in England' party for the members of the Southeast Africa Safari, that leaves the shores in the morning, is about to get underway.

Everyone seems to be in good spirits and the evening looks like being a good send off. For some however, it will be a very lasting goodbye!

Brady Smith, general manager believes those who come along will be in for a fantastic night of detective work, while enjoying the ambience and atmosphere of the 19th Century house.

Brady said: “The murder mystery nights are one of our most popular events and everyone who comes along really gets into the spirit of the occasion".

“The old house really does provide the perfect backdrop and adds to the overall experience".

“With characters such as Lady Agatha Plantagenet, the Rev Titus Jennings Major Monty Fortescue-Smythe and the recently widowed millionairess Mary-Belle Divine, will only add to the authenticity and drama of the evening as it unfolds!”

Taking place on Saturday 17 June 2023, tickets cost £45 per person and include a three-course dinner with coffee and tea plus entertainment until midnight. The bar opens at 6.30 pm, with guests seated at 7.30 pm.

Fancy dress is encouraged for this event but not necessary.
