My family attended a party held for my son’s 50th birthday on Friday 21st March and many of the guests stayed overnight. 

From the moment we arrived the whole evening went without a hitch.  The room looked splendid, the food was some of the best we have had from a hot buffet and the waitresses – Mary, Yvonne and another girl whose name I forget – were really helpful. The DJ was fantastic – and took my son’s requests very seriously which made for a really party atmosphere. 

Just thought it might be a good idea to let you know and to thank you for helping us have a really special night.

"I have stayed at your Cadbury House property 20 times in the last 9 months and would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your employees for providing me with the service that you do.

I have the fortune, or misfortune, to stay in many hotels worldwide as a result of my job and so would like to think that i have experienced my fair share of good and bad service!  I am conscious that bad service is always complained about but good service is seldom thanked.

From my initial booking with Ann, through to the greeting and warmth on arrival of Monica, Hannah and Lynette to the restaurant and bar staff - notably Mimo and Jon in the restaurant and David and Phil in the bar - i always feel like you not only want my business but you try your hardest to make the fact that i have to be away form home as enjoyable experience as possible.  Tanya at breakfast also remembers that i like a capuccino to start my day and the little things often make the biggest differences.

The quality of the rooms and cleanliness is always very good and the facilities in the health club are first class.  The meeting rooms are good, although I always seem to book the meeting rooms with the uncomfortable chairs so that will be top of my request next time i have a meeting at Cadbury!

Please relay my thanks to your employees.  I stay away from home because i have to, not because i like to - so to have your representatives showing the levels of service they do make it a bit easier.  Good service will always be a differentiator that leads to a repeatable competitive advantage and having that is why people like me repeatedly stay in your property."

As the event organisers and the production team for this event we recommended your hotel to our client at Jeff who had quite some complex requirements. We needed a venue that could be flexible and professional with a schedule that was clear would change on a regular or almost daily basis…
and didn’t it just!
 

The service however, provided from our initial booking with Nia in the Sales Office through to the execution of the event by your Operations Team was superb. 

We were provided with a relaxed atmosphere and an extremely flexible, accommodating team of people from your end that made us as both the Event Organisers and Staging company jobs so much easier and ultimately a great better result for the client. 

Your team were exceptional. Not only were they able to react immediately to our clients’ needs but they were also courteous and polite, delivering first class men u offering in a room that looked just great. 

I have attached some photographs of which we would be happy for you to use as part of your sales pitch. I am sure you will agree that the room looked great and the set etc. worked so well there. 

Thank you for accommodating the large lorries in the car park area, I appreciate they took up quite a lot of room for the entire day. This did not seem to be a problem to you guys either. 

So all in all, your team’s “can do” attitude is a credit to you and the Hilton Doubletree brand.

Hello Rebecca,

We held another successful two day Conference at Cadbury last week and I wanted to let you know that although all your staff were helpful and efficient there were several who provided that extra effort that led to achieving that success.

Jessica Bate was always on hand to support the smooth running of administration matters in particular arranging the last minute copying of documents for the delegate packs ably assisted by Maddie.

Wendy Stevens and her staff once again took control of the hands on food and beverage operation delivering everything on time allowing our speaker sessions to keep to schedule.

Finally I was really impressed with your senior receptionist Monica who answered my emergency call on Thursday to find someone who could fix my dress shirt having forgotten to pack my button fasteners and only realised this just half an hour before the black tie gala dinner was due to start and I was hosting it.

Without any fuss she found four buttons behind the reception desk and asked me to return in fifteen minutes which I did.

Amazingly the dress shirt was ready to wear with the four buttons perfectly in position and from what could have been a disastrous situation for me turned out to be a memorable evening with once again excellent service in the Great Room and delicious food [and wine].

I have been arranging events and Conferences at Cadbury for some thirty years and for the above reasons that is why I continue to do so.

Suzi - Scrabble Weekend - March 2013

I just wanted to thank you and your 'team' for an absolutely brilliant weekend!!! 

I don't know John's surname to include him in this email, so please be kind enough to forward this message on to him.  He personally went above and beyond for us all, especially in his care for Penny (the lady who had the accident) and Geoff . He was forever fetching and carrying, pandering to Scrabbler's needs and making sure Ronnie and I were kept fed and watered; he needs a medal!!

I had been worried beforehand that our warm-up tournament in the 'turret' may be a bit troublesome, but with help from the staff, it went like clockwork. I know the hotel was seriously busy with all the weddings and the staff were rushed off their feet as a result, but not once were we made to feel that anything was too much trouble.  Ronnie and I had such positive feedback from our players and I have already read some lovely reviews about the weekend on our scrabble site.

Lastly, what can I say about the food!!!!!  You really did us proud and EVERYONE thoroughly enjoyed it.  We have all stuffed ourselves silly for four days and considering you were catering for 70 of us, the quality of food and choice of menu was outstanding; kindly pass on out thanks to your Chef and kitchen staff.  

Hope to see you again before too long to arrange next year's event!!

Ian Burden, bibic children's charity - 30th April 2015

Dear Monika,

Just a quick note to thank your team for their assistance on the evening of Thursday 30th April.

I am a trustee of a children's charity (www.bibic.org.uk) and one of our trustees had arranged to staying with you that evening. We therefore decided to hold our Board meeting in The Lounge area and our Chair of trustees decided to also stay at the hotel.

On the evening of our meeting, the hotel was hosting a wedding and this meant that there was more noise than normal in the bar areas. Your staff were kind enough to allow us to use one of the meeting rooms upstairs, giving us the opportunity to hold our meeting without disturbance. Your staff arranged this quickly and without fuss displaying their professionalism

As a trustee of the charity, I just wanted to pass my thanks on to yourself and your team on that evening for giving us the opportunity to use one of your rooms at such short notice. As with all charities, we depend on the generosity of organisations such as yours.

Without this support and dedication to take care of us it would not have been so successful at the port or socially at the hotel, as a group we felt most welcome and bonded as friends not just colleagues and guests. 

I'd like to express particular thanks to Elaine for the initial contact and sorting things out, I hope she recovers soon. Jonathan and Mimo with whom we had the most contact, nothing was ever an issue and they always went the extra mile, Jonathans change of menu for lunch and dinners were great. Mimo for cooking up our gammons in the kitchen for taste panels. Monika, Hannah and the whole reception team were very very helpful throughout. 

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the Elvis night topped things off nicely. If you have any photos of our group we'd love some copies. 

I have travelled the world and stayed in many fine hotels. I feel you should be very proud of your hotel and your team of which are both world class."

"We as a company regularly use various meeting places. The Double Tree was perfect. The meeting room was comfortable and very well equipped. Things we usually have to ask for as extras were provided as standard. We were appointed a member if staff who was on the end of a phone or text if we needed anything. It was also cheaper than similar establishments that we have used. The Double Tree gave us a first class hotel experience. I would recommend trying it for business meetings or if you need to smooze a client."

I just wanted to pass on my thanks and gratitude to you both for making our conference “Hepatology Matters” a success on the 6th February.

Logistically the meeting was demanding with a lot of last minute changes. The team at Hilton were organised and always on the ball. If there things that I had forgotten you were able to find them for me! You’re a credit to the hotel.

I attended a wedding at Cadbury on the 22nd November for the 'allsopps' party and I have been meaning to email to say how much I appreciate all the help the waitresses gave me on the day, their service was outstanding, I had emailed before hand to explain that I had specific dietary requirements- just want to say everyone was kept too!

The staff were very informative throughout explaining what I should accept and what I need to refuse as well as the chef who served an amazing alternative menu for me. There is a lady in particular I would like to pass my thanks on too however I cannot remember her name- she was a mature lady, quite short in height and short light coloured hair- she was very friendly and very helpful on the day.

Many thanks once again and I will definitely recommend you to friends and family!

John and his team were fantastic and made sure the day ran seamlessly we would like to especially thank John for all his hard work and for being brilliant with the children Max in particular thought he was amazing. 

The Drawing room looked beautiful and the food was fabulous, all the guests commented on how professional the service was and nothing was too much trouble for anyone.

Lucy and Dan's Wedding - 2014 

My self and Dan would like to say thank you for the lovely evening we had at Cadbury last night for our taster food trying  for our big day ( not long now ). The food & wine were very yummy and we managed to decide on our choice.

We would just like to let you know that my family had an amazing day at our son's wedding last Saturday 29th June.  We were so very fortunate that the sun shone and Alistair and Kimberley were able to marry outside in the gazebo.  From star staff were et to finish yourxtremely attentive and offered a first class service, in fact we could not fault anything.

Cadbury House had such special memories for me before the big day, from my school 'prom' through to my Nan's birthday dinners and so I knew what a fantastic place it is, but you all went above and beyond on the day. From the planning through to the tasting and then on to the day itself, absolutely nothing has been too much trouble. The room looked spectacular, with all of the finishing touches displayed so well and it really had the 'wow factor'. I have had great comments from lots of the guests, in particular praising the food, both quality and quantity (not something you always hear about weddings, and no mean feat when serving so many), as well as the friendliness of the staff. My cousins were also really touched with the prawn cocktail so thank you for agreeing to arrange that. 

Aside from you both Leigh & Sarah, who were amazing, full of helpful suggestions and very patient..., please can you also pass on my thanks to the master of ceremonies Stuart, the DJ Chris, the waitresses/ers and the reception staff, in fact everyone who was involved.

The wedding day was perfect, weather was great and the staff were brilliant, Richard who performed the master of ceremonies role did an excellent job and looked after us very well , Please pass on our thanks to Richard he is an asset to your hotel. The food for the wedding breakfast was also perfect and all our guests commented on this.

We would like to thank everyone at Cadbury House for making the wedding of Nicola and Lee such a special and stress free day. The preparations before the day were handled expertly and thoroughly by Leigh who thought of details that would not have occurred to us. Sarah took charge of things when we arrived the day before the wedding, and we can honestly say that once we had handed over the seating plan and place cards everything was taken care of. We were able to enjoy a relaxing meal on the Friday evening and just had to get ourselves ready on Saturday morning. 

All of the people delivering flowers, cake and chair covers were handled by the hotel on the day and the set up of the room for the ceremony and wedding breakfast was beautiful. Many of our guests commented on the lovely venue, which cannot be disputed but was enhanced by the way the room was decorated by staff at the hotel. We felt that Richard, the Master-of Ceremonies did a superbly professional job of organizing the day from start to finish and we cannot thank him enough. Somehow he managed to remain unobtrusive whilst ensuring  that everything ran like clockwork and important details, like making sure the bride's dress was arranged perfectly as she arrived, were addressed. 

The food during the day and evening was perfect, and there have been many compliments, especially about the beef option we chose (although the hog roast has also been widely commended)! 

We would also like to thank the DJ for the evening, who catered for Nicola and Lee's choice of music and contributed to the lively atmosphere and enjoyment of the evening. It was great to see so many of our guests up on the dance floor as it confirmed that everyone was having a good time. At the end of the evening after we had gone to bed, gifts were packaged up for us so that there was no worry about losing things and even items that had been forgotten (like our grandson's favourite toy dinosaur) were found and ready to be collected the next day. There were obviously many staff involved in our day that we did not meet that we would like to thank. In our opinion Cadbury House is totally professional when arranging wedding but manages to combine this with a personal service that would be hard to beat. 

All in all, this was absolutely the wedding we had hoped for and we can't thank everyone at Cadbury House enough. Nicola and Lee summed things up when they said they would like to put the clock back so that they could do it all again!

I do need to say a huge thanks you to all for an amazing day. I would like to thank you all so much for all your help in making mine and Gary’s day so lovely. From start to finish it was amazing. Leigh, you were so good in planning it and Richard was fantastic on the day.  Both so organised & so dedicated. I really can’t find one fault... was truly amazing!! I would recommend anyone who is getting married to think about Cadbury house.

My wife and I would like to thank you for absolutely everything you have done for us over the past year. Other people have told us that planning a wedding is a stressful affair but I can whole heartily reject that claim. Cadbury House and Leigh, you in particular made it almost stress free. Nothing was too much trouble even down to popping and seeing us before you went home on our wedding day. Naomi and I didn't just feel like customers we felt like friends.Phone calls and emails were responded to at the earliest possible opportunity. 

We attended a wedding fair at the hotel and were picked out of the 100's in attendance for a chat on how the wedding plans were going. Every need was attended to with great care and it made the whole experience more special for us. All our guests both day and evening have commented on the politeness and helpfulness of all the staff from the receptionists to the DJ. During our wedding breakfast I stopped all out guests to thank all the guys waiting on the tables as they had also been superb.I would recommend your hotel as a venue for any event and look forward to having the excuse to come back.

Thank you again for your help in making the first day of the rest of our lives so special.

 

Mr & Mrs Robinson's Wedding - 2012 

We held our wedding reception at Cadbury House Hotel, Congresbury in late April 2012. From the onset of planning our wedding reception, nearly a year in advance we were very impressed with the wedding coordinators’ efficient organisation (we had contact with three wedding coordinators, and anything new discussed had always been passed along to the others). On the day, everything went according to plan and they remembered even the smallest details that we had requested. The Great Room, where we had our reception looked simply elegant. The staff were courteous, obliging, efficient and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. The desserts were just divine (our compliments to the chef). All our guests said everything was just perfect. We would like to also mention that the staff at check-in were brilliant as well. Many of our guests stayed at the hotel and said how helpful the reception staff were and how amazing the rooms are. Having spent our wedding night in one of their loft suites (part of the package they offered) we couldn’t agree more. The reception staff (so sorry we didn’t get their names) went above the call of duty helping my mum (who has a disability and is too claustrophobic getting into a lift) throughout her stay! We would like to make a special mention of two wonderful people who were nothing short of exceptional; Leigh who was our wedding coordinator throughout the whole process and Sarah our MC on the day. Leigh is one of the nicest people we got to know throughout the whole wedding planning process. We never once felt that we were pushed into making any decisions and always had fun at our meetings. Sarah was a fantastic MC on the day – she ensured that we had time to ourselves and kept checking on us to make sure we had been able to have food and drink and made sure the reception ran like clockwork. We were always greeted with smiles at Cadbury House, and having been there since the wedding we are still greeted with the same warm welcoming smiles. When we went to thank them about a month after the wedding, Leigh still remembered I have a nut allergy when she went to grab us a cookie – that is personal customer service at its best. 

It is easy to think that organizing a wedding or reception at a venue which holds many weddings (as much as 3 a day sometimes) as they do, might result in it feeling a bit impersonal- however, it couldn’t be further from that. On the day of our wedding there were three weddings including ours. Everything was organized so well that we didn’t actually see any other wedding parties. We always felt like we were the most important people to them and everything from the organization through to the actual wedding reception felt very personal. It felt like we had the entire venue to ourselves on the day. In what was allegedly the wettest April in a 100 years Leigh even managed to organize the sun to come out in the afternoon ;). Thank you for making this day so incredibly special for us, our families and our guests and for being a joy to plan the wedding with. We have great memories not only of our wedding day but also planning the day with you and based on our own experience would recommend you with no reservations to any couples wanting to have their wedding at Cadbury House. A beautiful venue complimented by outstanding staff. Keep up the good work!

She was constantly available for the slightest request and could be seen all afternoon directing staff and proceedings from the main floor, a tremendous credit to Doubletree by Hilton Cadbury House Hotel . Obviously, overall, your contribtion was undoubtably the major factor in ' one of the best weddings we have ever been to' being the general comment from almost every guest. I cannot even hazzard a guess at the bar takings but am pleased that I decided against a 'free' bar. Our grateful thanks once again and we look forward to seeing you again in the very near future.

Mick - Broad Street Community Trust Charity Ball on 6thMarch 2015

The event went really well. The total at the moment stands at around …£16,000. Which is really pleasing, especially as we more than doubled last year’s total.

We have had a lot of positive feedback from the guests. They have all said that the event was professional, and that the hotel and the room we were in looked fantastic. Everyone enjoyed the food. I managed to find time to eat this year!! The food was really nice. All the guests that stayed over were very impressed, especially as a lot of them were upgraded. Which I assume was your doing??!! So thank you very much for that.

Overall it was a very enjoyable and successful night.

Tony Haynes - Yatton Lodge of Hospitality Ladies Night

Many thanks for all your help with the above – it was a fantastic night which went without a hitch. Please convey my thanks on behalf of the Lodge to all the staff who looked after us. I feel compelled to contact you and recognise the outstanding attitude if Wendy.

I was asked to attend and deliver some training to McDonald's yesterday and we'd been allocated The Study. Wendy found a larger room she thought we'd prefer. However, I then told Wendy that my session required all tables removed - I was expecting this to be a problem. Not a bit of it!

Without hesitation Wendy found the Landing and within 10 mins the room was set up, vacuumed, and coffee & muffins in place. Clearly nothing phases Wendy. She was so accommodating, helpful, and very cheerful. I wanted to let you know that it was very much appreciated.

Elaine – Club with Friends- April 2013

I wish to pass on my thanks for a wonderful evening I had at your club with Friends last Friday evening. The event was a West End to Broadway night followed by a disco, my friend had organised this for her birthday and I text her the next day stating it was one of the best nights of my life!

Firstly I would like you to compliment Angie (Small lady white hair, in charge of serving the food). She was very attentive, professional and kind, it’s difficult to get staff these days working unsocialable hours and to remain so conscientious, she really was marvelous, hang onto her! There was also a young girl called Maddie S, for someone so young she too was very good at her job and always smiling. I fear you don’t get that very often from the youth of today. In fact all the staff were very good including the Greek barman (sorry didn’t get his name)

The food was excellent and I’m still trying to work out how you managed it for that price!

Suzi - Scrabble Weekend - March 2013

I just wanted to thank you and your 'team' for an absolutely brilliant weekend!!! 

I don't know John's surname to include him in this email, so please be kind enough to forward this message on to him.  He personally went above and beyond for us all, especially in his care for Penny (the lady who had the accident) and Geoff . He was forever fetching and carrying, pandering to Scrabbler's needs and making sure Ronnie and I were kept fed and watered; he needs a medal!!

I had been worried beforehand that our warm-up tournament in the 'turret' may be a bit troublesome, but with help from the staff, it went like clockwork. I know the hotel was seriously busy with all the weddings and the staff were rushed off their feet as a result, but not once were we made to feel that anything was too much trouble.  Ronnie and I had such positive feedback from our players and I have already read some lovely reviews about the weekend on our scrabble site.

Lastly, what can I say about the food!!!!!  You really did us proud and EVERYONE thoroughly enjoyed it.  We have all stuffed ourselves silly for four days and considering you were catering for 70 of us, the quality of food and choice of menu was outstanding; kindly pass on out thanks to your Chef and kitchen staff.  

Hope to see you again before too long to arrange next year's event!!

 

 

Rhiana - "...could not of wished for a better night" - Hen Party January 2013

I just wanted to express my thanks for a brilliant night on Friday – Take That, Red Tie and Tiara Events. 

It was my sisters hen do and the feedback from all the other hens has been brilliant, including my sister, who says she could not of wished for a better night. A special thanks to the manager Richard, who really made the night so special for her, with meeting the tribute band and getting her up on stage and having a special shout out and even her own throne.  Nothing was too much trouble and it was a hassle free, laugh a minute night. If this could get passed onto him I would really appreciate this. I will definitely recommend Cadbury House and its events to all my friends and family.

Well what can I say, your staff and the support we were given on Friday night was second to none yet again! 

Stu, Richard, Wendy and all the staff that helped us in the Great Room on Friday were fantastic. Please thank them so so much for us! 

The feedback is full of praise for the catering staff.  It amazes me how the food is served so quickly and efficiently and it is hot and cooked to perfection, fantastic!  Not forgetting the fab DJ of course.  

Thanks also for your support Cheryl, nothing is too much trouble and your support for the Lifeboat is very much appreciated.

Murder Mystery Night

I would just like to say what a fabulous time we had at the Murder Mystery evening last Friday.  It was really good fun and Lucy and I really enjoyed it.  We were on a table with a group of very friendly people and your Cadbury staff did us proud. The food was lovely and I thought the whole evening was really good value.

We would definitely come to another one, and bring some of our friends to add to our sleuthing power, so I shall look out for the next one!
