Cadbury House Donates £10,000
21st October 2013:
We are donating £10,000 to worthy causes working with young people across Greater Bristol and North Somerset. Teaming up with the Bristol Post the funding will be awarded to 12 charitable organisations through a new competition
Readers can vote to give the charities, youth groups or educational projects the money by submitting voting slips published in the Post in November.
The money will be given to local not-for-profit organisations who specialise in improving the wellbeing of young people.
Colin Badcock, general manager here at DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House, said: “We’re delighted to be able to provide local charities and good causes the opportunity to fund a project or initiative that needs a little financial support.
“Engagement with the community is part and parcel of the day-to-day operation at DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House with many of our staff regularly volunteering to help out in the local community.
“Thanks to the Hilton Community Foundation (HCF), we are able to extend this support by providing cash for charities and good causes that do so much good work in their local area. This give away is a fantastic chance for many to not only raise their profile and the work that they do but to apply for a grant that will help them realise and achieve their goals.
“The HCF is a great cause and by investing in improving access to education and investing in the improvement of health care for young people, it makes a big difference in areas where Hilton Worldwide and its hotels operate. Through targeted grant-giving and its own programmes and campaigns, it aims to support smaller charities that might otherwise be overlooked.
“To be able to help will hopefully enable young people realise some of their dreams and will make a big difference to those within local communities who need our help. We really want as many good causes to apply and look forward to finding out more about the great work that they do.”
Any charity or worthy cause can enter as long as they are focused on improving the health, wellbeing or education of young people aged 0 -25 years. 24 organizations and good causes will be nominated for the 12 cash prizes which are £2,500 (x1), £1000 (x4), £500 (x7).
